I wasn’t looking for anything, much like how life has always been for me.
I had simply decided to go to Wegmans for double chocolate Cado ice cream sandwiches in lieu of birthday cake.
A soft rainbow appeared tucked quietly into the clouds.
After my son, Crosby, moved to Heaven, rainbows like this began randomly appearing.
For others, perhaps a coincidence; for me, it’s happenstance.
Sometimes something ordinary appears at exactly the moment your heart needs it, and for just a second the distance between what was and what is doesn’t feel quite so enormous.
Maybe that’s why I loved it. Just to the right was a spot where Crosby and I shared pizza- where laughter filled the air.
A reminder that love can still find its way through a trying time. A hug from Heaven, if you will.
And sometimes, that is enough to remember he is always with me.
